easy trick for cleaning the microwave

Cleaning the microwave ranks high on my list of least favorite kitchen chores. The other day, as I was tackling this dreaded task, I remembered a trick my step-mom taught me many years ago. You take a microwave-safe bowl (any size will do), fill it about halfway up with water and add a squirt of dish soap. Then you place it in the center of your microwave and cook on high power for about 2 minutes. Keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn't overflow too much. Leave the door closed for a couple minutes to let the steam soak in, then take a dish cloth or sponge and just wipe everything out. Any food that was stuck in there just comes right off! Oh, by the way, please be very careful when you take the bowl out. It will be extremely hot!
